10 Tips for Accepting Equine Behaviour

  • The horse always comes first.
  • Always choose the training to suit the horse, do not force the horse to suit the training.
  • To remove the symptom, treat the cause of a problem.
  • Always give the horse the benefit of the doubt.
  • Before blaming the horse, look at yourself.
  • There is no such thing as a problem horse –only horses with problems.
  • Learn from the horses, as they are the only ‘experts’ on their own behaviour.
  • Believe in the true nature of the horse.
  • Trust what the horse is telling you.
  • Trust the horse as much as you want the horse to trust you.
